Okay so I arrived back to a shit storm of notes. But this is definitely something I did not know about this campaign either. Does anyone have any other articles or statistics about it being alt-right propaganda hysteria? The link above is definitely a good start with information I was unaware of. I’m just so confused now, I didn’t realise this had connection to the alt-right and I definitely don’t want to be spreading false information that could help the alt-right. My apologies if I didn’t know the whole picture. I legit thought this was another SOPA deal, because I definitely don’t want fair use on the internet to be gone and that’s what still worries me.
Excuse me? Various sources, including Julia Reda have warned us about this. I’m at this point convinced that this is not alt righters trying to lie to us. I’ve heard that even news outlets that have nothing to do with the alt-right are talking about this now.

The UN’s top free speech expert has called it a potential violation of international human rights law. The folks behind Wikipedia and various other experts are against it. People are protesting. Politicians are speaking out against it. It’s not a scam. There are probably members of the alt-right who are opposed to it, too, but come on. There are members of the alt-right who drink water, that doesn’t mean drinking water is a bad thing. It’s good to question things. It’s not good to jump to conclusions. And it’s definitely not good to attack well-meaning people for trying to raise awareness of an issue that affects all of us.
